Corporate solicitor/associate — Aberdeen

From drafting commercial contracts to mergers and acquisitions, our corporate team has been at the centre of some of the most important deals in Scotland over the last few years.

Our corporate colleagues will also play an integral part in our growth plans, just one of the aspects covered in this video marking three decades of Ledingham Chalmers.

The role

Described in the latest Legal 500 rankings as having "the determination to ensure their clients get the best deal", we're looking for a solicitor or associate to join our busy team.

This is an exceptionally varied role, from working on intellectual property matters and sales and purchase agreements one day, to drafting terms and conditions the next.

There will be plenty of client contact as well as the opportunity to get stuck into business development and play your part in growing our firm.

Our ideal candidate

While many of us are based in Aberdeen, we'd consider candidates who could work from any of our offices. We also welcome applications for hybrid working.

As our ideal candidate you'll have strong drafting and interpersonal skills and some experience in either (or both) commercial contracts and M&A.

You'll be happy to take responsibility as part of a supportive team working for a wide range of clients from entrepreneurial start-ups, established private companies to multinationals, in fact much of our work has an international aspect.

Why Ledingham Chalmers?

We're ambitious, we share success, and we've built a reputation as a great place to work with an enviable culture. Take a look at our core values that guide how we work with our clients, and each other.

We recently announced our latest figures, showing increased profits for the 2020/2021 financial year. At the same time we revealed we'd be investing six-figures over the next 12 months as part of our growth strategy to double revenue to £25million by 2025.

Having the right team in place will, of course, be instrumental to reaching that goal.

As such, and reflecting colleagues' commitment throughout the pandemic as well as our core value to treat others well, we allocated a £150,000 COVID-19 pot which has been shared among everyone Ledingham Chalmers employed as at 31 March, 2021: a payment of £1,250 for someone working full-time hours.

We offer a friendly, supportive and collaborative environment; a competitive salary; as well as other benefits including bonuses, subject to qualifying conditions, and an additional day off on top of holiday entitlement for your birthday.
