A bit about us. This video marks three decades of Ledingham Chalmers and explores our heritage, culture and what happens next, including our ambitious growth plans.

The role

We're looking for a paralegal to join our thriving litigation department in Aberdeen, which specialises in personal injury matters and works collaboratively with colleagues and clients nationwide.

The role is suitable for hybrid working.

Working alongside an existing team of experienced solicitors, you'll handle your own caseload and the main duties of the role will be to deal with all aspects of litigation matters including —

  • Principally acting for motor insurers in the defence of motor claims

  • Dealing with defended litigation in sheriff courts throughout Scotland

  • Dealing with simple procedure, summary cause and some ordinary cause actions

  • Dealing with claims from initial instruction to settlement and agreement of expenses

  • Dealing directly with insurer company clients

Our ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will likely have personal injury law experience, but we would consider someone with a commercial litigation background, with an interest in personal injury.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a first-rate client service track record.

As a strong communicator, you will be adept at analysing legal issues, working efficiently to deadlines, and demonstrating a can-do attitude to business development. You'll be a strong team player while also able to work under your own initiative.

You should also be IT literate, with a good knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ideally be a Law Society of Scotland-accredited paralegal.
