A bit about us. This video explores our heritage, culture and what happens next, including our growth plans.
A central part of our approach is our core values, which guide how we work with each other, and our clients.
The role and requirements
We're described in the latest Legal 500 rankings as a "fantastic, knowledgeable, hard-working team dedicated to delivering excellence."
And, in Edinburgh — where we specialise in public sector and insurance litigation and handle cross-Scotland Court of Session and sheriff court cases — we're looking for a solicitor with one to three years' post-qualification experience to join our team.
This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing, ambitious firm. The role is ideally suited to someone keen to rapidly progress their career through regular exposure to — and involvement in — high value and complex litigation.
We act for a number of well known public sector institutions including several local authorities as well as major insurers.
The work will include judicial reviews, liability, and subrogation claims for major insurers arising from property damage; as well as commercial litigation, primarily in the Court of Session.
The ideal candidate
Working alongside experienced colleagues including accredited specialists and solicitor advocates, you'll have advocacy experience and will be enthusiastic at the prospect of appearing in court. You'll be adept at analysing legal issues, working efficiently to deadlines and preparing proactive, pragmatic and reasoned advice.
Why Ledingham Chalmers?
In this role you’ll work with friendly, collaborative colleagues across Scotland.
And now is a great time to join our firm. Our latest figures showed our highest turnover — £12.8million — since becoming a limited liability partnership (LLP) in 2006 and our strategy is to increase revenue to £25million by 2025.
Having the right team in place will, of course, be instrumental to reaching that goal. There are great opportunities at Ledingham Chalmers for personal development, training, and progression in a supportive environment.
Importantly too, this post comes with an attractive remuneration and holiday package as well as other bonuses, subject to qualifying conditions, and an additional day off on top of holiday entitlement for your birthday.
