Private client associate, solicitor and paralegal — any office

We’re looking for three talented people — a solicitor, associate and a paralegal — to join our growing Scotland-wide private client team.

A bit about us. This video marks three decades of Ledingham Chalmers and explores our heritage, culture and what happens next, including our ambitious growth plans.

A central part of our approach is our core values, which guide how we work with each other, and our clients.

The solicitor and associate roles and requirements

Working from any of our offices (Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Inverness and Stirling) the solicitor and associate will have private client experience including in succession, executries, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, guardianships, and conveyancing.

The associate will have at least six years’ experience while the solicitor will either be newly qualified or will have up to around three years under their belt.

The paralegal role and requirements

Requirements include —

  • Investigating the extent of estates

  • Preparing confirmation applications and Inheritance Tax returns

  • Preparing executry accounts

We'd welcome applications from those looking for part-time or hybrid working arrangements for these roles.

Our ideal candidates will have all the qualities you’d expect: excellent attention to detail; a first-rate client care track record; good communication and time management skills, as well as the ability to work on their own initiative.

Why Ledingham Chalmers?

These roles are ideal for people keen to make their mark in the private client discipline with the support of friendly, collaborative colleagues across Scotland, including our fast growing private client team in Inverness.

Plus, there are great opportunities at Ledingham Chalmers for personal development, training and progression in a supportive and friendly environment.

A few months ago we announced our latest figures, showing increased profits for the 2020/2021 financial year. At the same time we revealed we'd be investing six-figures over the next 12 months as part of our growth strategy to double revenue to £25million by 2025.

Having the right team in place will, of course, be instrumental to reaching that goal.

Importantly too, these roles come with an attractive remuneration and holiday package as well as other bonuses, subject to qualifying conditions, and an additional day off on top of holiday entitlement for your birthday.
