Ledingham Chalmers Christmas employment law café — Thursday, 3 December

Do the elves have employee, or at least workers’, rights? Can Santa say they’re independent contractors and work them 364.5 days a year with just Christmas afternoon off? Will Saint Nick pay a tax bill next year thanks to IR35?

And what can be done to stop the reindeer from teaming up with the penguins to launch a rival operation in the South Pole?

It’s that time of the again when we throw open the doors to our (virtual, this time) festive employment law café and give employers, managers and HR professionals practical advice about how to fairly and robustly deal with common workplace issues.

Workers’ rights, disciplinary proceedings, non-compete clauses and a look ahead to what’s on the cards for employment law in 2021 are amongst those in the spotlight at this free event.

And, of course, we couldn’t have a discussion about employment law in the current climate without a look at how best to approach the redundancy process.

Expect a lively discussion with plenty of opportunity to ask us questions.
