Christmas employment law cafés — 6 December (Inverness) and 14 December (Aberdeen)

Join us in Inverness on 6 December or Aberdeen on 14 December for one of this year’s free festive employment law cafés

Can Santa dismiss an elf who is a member of the Elf and Safety Party standing in the forthcoming North Pole elections given Santa’s strict policy of political neutrality?

Also how should he deal with Comet the reindeer’s claims that visiting 396 million houses on Christmas Eve involves excessive working time? In particular, is it whistleblowing and if so must Santa ignore Comet’s attempts to emphasise his concern by kicking over a table and using very strong language in front of Mrs Claus?

It’s that time again when we throw open the doors of our Christmas cafés, focusing on some of the latest developments in employment law (with a festive twist) and a focus on practical issues relevant to the workplace.

We’ll also cover handling disciplinary processes, touch on the current “fire and re-hire” controversy and throw in some stocking fillers including changes to the minimum wage, weekly pay, maximum unfair dismissal awards and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come will take a look at what may crop up in 2023 including the possible end of EU-derived employment rights.

We’d love to see you there for a catch up over lunch and a mince pie (or two). Like all good cafés, we operate on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s always best to book your spot early.
