Full-service law firm Ledingham Chalmers, which has offices in Inverness, Aberdeen, Stirling and Edinburgh, held its second Spanish-themed Vuelta de Isla Negra — translated as ‘cycle round the Black Isle.'
The participants tackled the 50-mile route to raise cash to help transform Avoch Amenities Association’s old bowling green into tennis and all-weather multi-sports courts with changing facilities.
The law firm has contributed £350 to this year’s total, while the inaugural event in 2017 also raised £1,000.
Recently, AAA announced it had been successful in securing funding from the Suez Communities Trust and Highland Council’s LEADER fund for phase one of the £300,000 refurbishment.
Inverness-based Ledingham Chalmers senior associate Roddy Cormack came up with the idea for the event in 2017.
And four of his colleagues took part this year: partner John Smart and personal assistant Adele MacIver from the Inverness office, along with partner David Scott and senior associate Veli-Matti Raikkonen from Aberdeen.
Mr Cormack said: “With funding secured for phase one of the project, this contribution will help keep momentum going towards the next phase, all with a view to ultimately seeing world-class sports facilities in place for the whole community.”
